Haunted Places in America

Hey guys, sorry about the late update! It was midterms week for me, and I have been studying and testing ALL week. I did however, decide to write about something a little more creepy for you. These are two very haunted places in America and their stories. The Stanley Hotel… Freelan O. Stanley opened this hotel in 1901. However, as most scary stories begin on one stormy night, June 25, 1911, the power went out. Luckily, or should I say unluckily, Freelan had gas lamps for his backup system. There was a gas leak in room 217 and when the maid, Ms.Wilson, walked into the room with a lit candle to turn on the light there was a huge explosion. It took out almost the entire west wing of the hotel. Ms. Wilson ended up falling through the floor and broke many of the bones in her body. Surprisingly, she survived and continued working at the Stanley Hotel for many more years. There is a theory that her corset actually saved her life. She worked there from 1913 to 1950.
